The Orchard School Staff Team Is Headed Up By Mike Burton, School PrincipalOur School Principal Mike Burton originally worked with us as part of NE Lincolnshire's improvement program focused on improving student engagement. As a result of his positive impact we recruited him as our Principal for The Orchard School. Mike has a passion for engaging young learners and runs the local high profile charity, 'Inspiring Local Champions'. Which looks to Inspire the next generation of champions. Mike has received National recognition for his Charity work with a nomination for the 2017 National Diversity Awards. Mike is also a local School Governor and also sits on the NE Lincolnshire SEND strategy group. Mike is a Designated SENCO for the School and also the Designated Teacher for Looked after Children.
Pete MacLeod - Director - Designated Safeguarding Lead
Pete has a background in Community Policing and worked for Lincolnshire Police as a Police Officer for 12 years. In 2008 Pete received a National Nomination for ‘Community Police Officer Of The Year’. Pete is also a School Governor for other Schools in the area. Safeguarding our learners is the primary objective within our School and as designated Safeguarding Lead, Pete will be available to discuss any student concerns at any time. Pete sits on the strategic M.A.C.E. group as schools link. This process picks up on child exploitation in the borough, including child sexual exploitation (CSE) and child criminal exploitation (CCE).
